I am without a doubt a beauty junkie. I’m an Ultamate Platinum member at Ulta and a VIB Rouge member at Sephora(I don’t even want to tell you how much that means I had to have spent in a year there🙈) I’m always changing out my skincare products and trying out different and new beauty products and getting asked by my friends what I’m currently using. Today I’ll share my four favorite skincare products that I always use and NEVER trade out.
Bioderma Micellar Water
In case you’re not familiar with micellar water, it’s supposed to clean your skin without drying it. This is especially great for sensitive or acne-prone skin. I started using this after reading an article about over cleansing your face. You know that super fresh, tight, squeaky clean feeling you get after you wash your face? Yeah you’re not supposed to get that feeling. I always thought you were supposed to and that was how you knew your face was clean. I even LOVED that feeling, but apparently that feeling just means you over cleansed and left your face dry. So I bought this product to combat that problem. I use this in the morning, immediately after the gym, and before I go to bed. I’ve noticed that my face gets less breakouts when i’m using it and more when i’m not. It’s a French product and can be purchased here. Tip: If you can’t read French and are just dying to know what the back of the bottle says download the Google Translator app on your phone. Just pick which language you want to translate, take a picture of the words, highlight them, and boom! Now you know what is says. Ok well for the most part. It usually doesn’t translate it perfectly, but enough for you to get the general idea.
Thayers Rose Petal Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Toner
Y’all I have really oily skin. Like if I don’t do something about it you could use the grease on my face to fry some french fries type of oily. Luckily I do several things to fix this problem. One of them is using this toner. The majority of toners have alcohol in them which is so drying for your face, but this one does not. It has helped decrease the oil on my face tremendously! If you have oily skin and you don’t use toner then this will change your life! I use this right after I use the Bioderma. Buy it here.
This is the best exfoliator ever! It’s a Japanese product and I’ve never used anything like it before. First off, exfoliating your skin is so important and most people don’t do it. Exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells that make your skin look dull and rough. It also leads to excess oil which can clog your pores and cause acne. The reason this is my favorite is because you can actually see your dead skin cells pilling off your face! I start by cleansing my face first and then I put about 2-3 pumps worth of exfoliator on my fingers and pat it all over my face. I let it sit on my face for at least a couple minutes. It starts turning into a milky color and then that’s when I start massaging it into my face. As soon as you start massaging you begin to see the dead skin cells coming off your face. I was so amazed the first time I used it because I had read about the results, but I thought since I take such good care of my skin (i.e. always wash my makeup off before bed, use lots of skincare masks, never leave the house without spf etc.) that I wouldn’t have that many dead skin cells. Wrong! I had tons! It goes to show you that no matter how much you take care of your face we all have dead skin cells that need to be removed. I try to exfoliate at least twice a week. Buy it here.
Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30
If you don’t do anything skincare wise the one thing you just absolutely have to start doing is wearing SPF EVERY DAY. The sun is your skin’s biggest enemy. It’s the reason for your fine lines/wrinkles and your sun spots. The brand Cetaphil is known for it’s sensitive skincare products so if you’re worried this might break you out, I’d definitely give it a try. I like it because I have oily skin and this product doesn’t make my skin as oily as other products with SPF do. Available here and at Ulta.
